FAQ
Q: What is a zine?A: A zine is typically a fan made magazine, typically containing art, writing both and more!
THIS zine is about Vivid BAD SQUAD from Project Sekai, each event from the game will have an artist assigned to it as well as a writer (if we have enough of both)Q: How will the zine be distributed?A: The zine is DIGITAL ONLY as well as being FREE, there will be no physical copies made but they will be printable. The zine will be avaliable over Google Drive and anywhere else I feel it should be put.Q: Is there a minimum age?
A: Yes, 16.Q: How will communication be done?A: Applications will be done by Google Form, when the Zine is underway there will be a Discord Server to post check ins into. If you're uncomfortable with being in the server however I am more than happy to have check ins be given with email or direct message.Q: How will event distribution work?A: Each event will have a single page artist and a single writer.
When applying, you will be asked to list 3 events you would be happy to make art or write about in order of priority. When I am then assigning which event to give to whom, I will use this information to assign events people may want.
It is not first-come, first-served; it will be based on how best to give as many people who get into the zine the event they want
Also, when applying, if you ask for all events which are highly popular, you may be less likely to get the one you want, so think carefully about which events you would be happy to make art/ write for.
If I accept you into the zine, and any issues arise with this, I will contact youQ: Will there be anything dedicated to the VBS Vocaloids in the zine?A: I would like to include them as much as I can; they're most likely to be in spot art and to cameo in the event art and writing. I want to include the main story in the list of events to choose from, which means if someone did want to, they could draw/ write something for the Virtual singers' story or SEKAI HAPPY NEW YEAR, as that is a VBS Miku event. Though if this event does get given out, I would still want it to mainly focus VBS and Street Sekai.Q: Will spot art be randomly assigned?A: spot artists will be able to claim what they want to draw as what is needed of the role is broader.
Once everyone is in the server the spot artists will be able to claim which spot art and assets they want to do, as this is a growing list of various elements we may need more as the zine goes on making this method easier to manage!
Spot artists and anybody else interested will also be able to make promotional art/ writing for posts to go on our socials, this will also be assigned through claiming!Q: Will there be merch?A: There is no plan to create merch for this zine at this time.Q: Are mixed events allowed?A: Yes! As long as the mixed event's focus character is in VBS (including VBS Miku for SEKAI HAPPY NEW YEAR) and the focus of the piece is on the VBS member in question!Q: Can I post my work elsewhere when the zine is published?A:Yes! Once the zine is out you can post, sell or do whatever you want with your contributions! It's your art afterall!Q:How will the zine be structured?A: The zine will be structured in chronological order of the events.
For example, Main Story and all elements included will go first, then once all of the art/ writing is done for that event the next pages will be about the Virtual Singers Story, then Singing in Sync, then SEKAI HAPPY NEW YEAR, then Nocturne Interlude so on and so forth!Q: Can writing go over the 2500 word limit, if so how much?A: preferably we do not want writing going over this limit as it is the maximum. The absolute maximum we will accept before asking you to shorten your story is 2550 words as it all needs to be readable on one page.Q: Do I have to include every character in VBS in my art/ writing?A: Nope! The minimum we would like you to include is the focus character, however you can add as many other characters from VBS and outside as you would like so long as the focus stays on the focus character of the event!Q: Would I be able to use old unpublished work for my piece?A: Sure! As long as what you use for the zine isn't published or public you're free to use it in the zine!Q: will more recent vbs events be included as they are released or will there be a certain point where new events will no longer be included in the zine? The current plan us to have new events that come out be avaliable as second pieces to those in the zine already if they want and have already done substantial work on their first piece or they will become avaliable to pitch hitters if needed!
